2008 Oktoberfest
August 29 - September 6
Successfully held in
German Park for 33 years, this year's
2008 Oktoberfest moves to the Indiana
State Fairgrounds beginning this year. The
move from the far south side of Indianapolis to the more
central location at 38th Street and Fall Creek Parkway
makes it more convenient for residents north of Marion
County to attend the festivities.

Did you know that you can
RIDE
THE OKTOBERFEST TRAIN!
Oktoberfest Train will make four
round-trips to the Fairgrounds on each of the five
evenings of Oktoberfest. It will depart from Fishers Station located on 116th Street, about a half-mile west of
exit 5 of Interstate 69. Free parking is available at
Fishers Station but it is suggested that travelers should arrive about 30 minutes before their intended departure
time to find a parking spot and purchase train tickets. Trains will depart on time!!
The train delivers passengers to 39th Street and Millersville Road.
A short walk takes passengers across the historic 39th
Street bridge over Fall Creek to a traffic-controlled
crossing of Fall Creek Parkway. Passengers are
then at Gate 6 of the Fairgrounds. Once through
the gate, Fairgrounds shuttles will transport the train
riders to the west side of the Fairgrounds where the
revelry will take place in and around the
Agriculture/Horticulture building.
Travelers can pick from the many departure and return times in planning how long they would like to enjoy
Oktoberfest.
The train is a great way to get to
Oktoberfest but those that just want a train ride may
also come along.
The ITM on-board staff will make every effort to accommodate
passengers in boarding the train and stowing strollers.
