Ride from
Fishers in air-conditioned comfort on the Indiana
Transportation Museum's historic passenger coaches. You will
combine the excitement of the Indiana State Fair with the fun of
a train ride! Travel time one-way is
approximately 30 minutes for the 11 mile trip. Trains run rain or shine.
The WFMS FairTrain is as close as central Indiana
comes to a commuter railroad and has transported hundreds of
thousands of people to and from the fair saving countless tons of
greenhouse gases. Travelers can choose among the 10 daily departure and
10 daily return
times.
See the timetable at the bottom of this page.
The WFMS FairTrain departs from Fishers
Station, located
on 116th Street, about a half-mile west of exit 5 of Interstate
69. Free parking is available at the station and then in areas
around the Fishers town hall. At Fishers Train Station toward
mid-day you may need to park a short distance, no more than a
quarter-mile away from the
station and walk over. Then you will need to buy your ticket to
board the train so please arrive early; at least 20 minutes before
the scheduled departure time you have chosen.
All the passengers who planned ahead should not be
penalized waiting for a few who did not. Trains
will depart on time as shown in the timetable below!!
The Fairgrounds Station is at 39th
Street, just a short walk
across the recently restored, historic 39th Street Bridge over Fall Creek to
the police-controlled crossing of Fall Creek Parkway and to Gate
6 of the Indiana State Fairgrounds!
Tickets for the Indiana State Fair will be on sale at the
Fairgrounds gate and are normally sold on the train beginning
with the second trip
to the fair each day. They are not included in the round-trip train
fare.
