Looking for a historic and fun train ride that requires only a little time and money? Try our caboose shuttles, which run on
twelve Sundays in 2012.
The Forest Park Caboose Ride:
- Travels for five round-trips.
- Takes about 45 minutes per trip
- Covers about 4 miles per trip
- Crosses over the White River twice per trip
- Journeys over our railroad from the station in Forest Park to the courthouse square, from the courthouse square to 196th Street north of Forest Park and from 196th Street back to our Museum.
Along the way you might see baseball being played at Forest Park, soccer games at the 196th Street
home of the Noblesville United Soccer Club and golfers on
Fox Prairie
Golf Course. Each Caboose train ticket includes admission to the
Indiana Transportation Museum. You can buy your tickets and board at the Indiana Transportation Museum in
Noblesville's Forest Park.
You are not required to ride one continuous round-trip. After boarding at Forest Park you can disembark at the square and window shop or have lunch at one of the restaurants in downtown Noblesville. Then catch a later train back to the park.
Just don't miss the last trip back. You can tour our exhibits before you board or after your trip except for the last trip - the Museum exhibits close at 4pm on Sundays.

This is a photo of the area where our trains stop near the square:
We also operate similar caboose trains on First
Fridays, during the Noblesville Street
Dance, at the
Tipton Pork Festival and at the Atlanta
New Earth
Festival. Also, on Father's Day we operate a special train between the square and Forest Park for the vintage car show.
The caboose train is also available for charter for any event. It is very popular for children's birthday parties.
