You could
drive down the block to the local giant supermarket and pick out a
pumpkin from a two-ton bin, but how exciting is that? Or,
you could board the train at Forest
Park and ride the transportation museum's historic passenger cars
through Hamilton County's fall countryside, see farm
animals and pick your own pumpkin from a local farm field. "The
Pumpkin Train," will operate round-trips from the Museum in
Noblesville to a charming,
fresh-air pumpkin patch. We are proud to partner with Beck's
Hybrids and the Hamilton Heights High School FFA chapter to
create this unique experience. We will run the Pumpkin Train twice
each day every Saturday and
Sunday from October 1 through October 23.
In
addition to selling pumpkins the FFA students provide a small hay-bale
maze for the littlest children and games of skill for the older ones.
Often a brief hayride travels around the patch and older farm
equipment is on display. Lunch items are available in the tent. Only
your pumpkin and food items are for sale: everything else is free. The
FFA students can only accept cash at the pumpkin patch.
Seating on the Pumpkin Train is open - show up and go IF seats are
still available. We do take reservations through the Wednesday prior
to each weekend. Reservations are recommended. This is a very popular event
but we limit ridership for a
better customer experience.
