So you drive down the block to the local giant supermarket and pick out a pumpkin from a two-ton bin. How exciting is that?

Or, you could. . .Ride the train museum's historic passenger cars through Hamilton County's fall countryside, see a petting zoo of farm animals and pick your own pumpkin from a local farm field. Show your children where food grows! ITM's annual fall family fun, "The Pumpkin Train," will operate round-trips from the Museum in Noblesville to a charming, fresh-air pumpkin patch.

ITM is proud to be a part of this partnership between the Museum, Beck's Hybrids and the Hamilton Heights High School FFA chapter to create this unique pumpkin patch.

2010 marks the third year of this collective effort. Beck's has donated the use of land for the patch, and the Hamilton Heights FFA chapter raises and sells the pumpkins, along with other products from their farm. Proceeds from the sale of the pumpkins will go to support the Hamilton Heights FFA program. In addition, a portion of the train ticket proceeds is donated by ITM to the Hamilton Heights FFA chapter.

This is a great opportunity to bring the family out for a festive fall train ride, enjoy fun activities at the patch, and purchase a pumpkin to help support a great local agricultural education program for youth!

The FFA provides fun activities for the whole family including:

  • Balloons
  • A Petting Zoo
  • Face Painting
  • Painted Pumpkins
  • Straw Bale Maze
  • Antique Farm Equipment

This event is also available for SCHOOL CHARTERS during October. Thanks to all who helped make the 2008 and 2009 Pumpkin Trains a success!!!
